Schwartz Park has been part of Walnut Hills since at least the 1960’s. It has provided green space and recreational facilities for families in the southwest quadrant. During the 1980’s, the park became a focus for cleanup efforts. The 1983 Walnut Hills Plan for the Southwest Quadrant singled out Schwarz Park for $74,000 of improvements. The site had become a place to dump trash, and the community wanted to reclaim it for safe recreation.
Today, it is isolated from industry and traffic by trees and shrubbery. It is designated a playground by Cincinnati Parks and Recreation and has a basketball court and play equipment along with green space and fields. The Walnut Hills Warhawks baseball league played games in the park in 2019. Go Warhawks!
