Alms Hotel

 Started in 1893 by Fredrick Alms, the current imposing brick structure was finished as an addition in 1925. The hotel rivaled downtown accommodations for White visitors and residents. Organizations used the facilities -- including the elegant ball room -- for dinners, dances and meetings. WKRC radio broadcast live from 1924 until the early 1970’s. 

The hotel has provided affordable housing for over 50 years. Thanks to great organizing by the residents, the rooms are now being renovated!
